Goalie Sign-up

Goalies Wanted: MACRHL is always looking for goalies of all skill levels. If you are interested in playing in net, please complete the following steps…

Step 1: Obtain Insurance

Playing in net is FREE, however you must have insurance. Please register with USA Hockey for insurance:

USA Hockey on their web site USA Registration and print the confirmation page. (If the link does not work, copy this text into your browser: https://www.usahockeyregistration.com) .

The fee for USA Hockey membership is $30.00 and is valid from August 31, 2013 through August 31, 2014. USA Hockey Membership Benefits (in PDF) includes access to educational resource materials for players, special discounts for apparel/merchandise, and, most importantly, insurance coverage for excess accidents, catastrophic accidents and general liability. You will also receive a subscription to the USA Hockey Magazine.

Step 2: Register with MACRHL

  1. Email proof of insurance to Tiffany at tmarra@umich.edu
  2. You will receive an email from Tiffany to signup for the MACRHL Goalie Wiki.
  3. Once you’ve registered (entered your name, password, and clicked enter), close that window and follow Step 3.

Step 3: Schedule Games To Play In Net

  1. Login to the MACRHL wiki (http://macrhl.com/goalie-sign-up)
  2. Click on the Edit Tab
  3. Enter your name under Goalie 1 or Goalie 2 for the games you would like to play
  4. Click Save

Please limit your sign-up to 2 games per week, so everyone has the opportunity to play.  If you ever REALLY want to play and all of the slots are full, please let us know and we will try and accomodate. However, if something comes up and you are unable to make it after you have committed, please remove your name from the slot. This way if anyone is looking for a last minute game, they can sign up.

Scheduling will be on a first-come, first-served basis. So, please be considerate of others and only schedule yourself for games you are able to make. We will send out a reminder about who is scheduled to play in net at the beginning of each week.

If you have any questions, please contact tmarra@umich.edu.

Tips to improve your game

The only way to gain confidence and skill in this area is to do it. Your teammates worked hard to pass you the puck so don’t throw it away. Keep your head up, puck in front of you and skate!
